Camera angles/shots/movements:

  • Medium shot for entire video except for when the beat drops and the camera pans from main character to show his surrounding area. 

Editing:

  • Most of video uses an insert, directing you to view either the main character of the video or his environment. 

Sound: 

  • Diegetic sound is the song since the artist is singing along to it, meaning he can hear it.

Mis-en-scene:

  • Costumes- T-shirt and jacket
  • Lighting goes from dim to bright since set is on a ferris wheel at the fair and the wheel goes around. 
  • Artist is acting like he is talking to a stuffed bear the entire ferris wheel ride. 
  • Natural to no makeup.  
  • Prop is a teddy bear
  • Set is at the fair on a ferris wheel

Location-Khalid 

Camera angles/shots/movements and Editing:
  • The music video started with an establishing shot of the desert location. 
  • Then different shots were taken of Khalid driving with his hand on the wheel, driving in a town, a clip of El Paso, Texas, and him driving in a desert.
  • Medium close-up shot of him singing.
  • Fades into wide shot.
  • Uses a series of medium close-up shots and medium shots, fading in between them.
  • Dissolves to different scenes during party.

Sound:
  • Diegetic sound since the artist is singing along to it, meaning that he is able to hear the song.

Mis-en-scene:
  • Costumes- green shirt and blue jeans, bathing suit top and shorts, t-shirt and jeans, has a 2016 style of clothing. 
  • Lighting- Natural lighting and darker lighting during party scenes. 
  • Makeup- Khalid, the main character wears no makeup, but the girls in the video wear heavy 2016 style makeup.
  • Set- Desert, pool party, backyard, inside car, at party. 
  • Props- car, phones, and lipstick.

Camera angles/shots/movements: 
  • Music video begins with a medium long shot of artist walking away.
  • Medium long shot is also used when artist is sitting on the couch. 
  • Wide shot is used when she is crouching down. 
  • Tracking shot is used when she is walking around in the party scene. 
  • Eye level angle is used when she is singing to the camera
  • Two-shot is used when the artist is dancing with a man at the party.
  • Medium long shot is again used when the artist is singing at the party.
Mis-en-scene:
  • Costumes- Artist wearing white pants and a white shirt in the first half of the music video and is then seen wearing silver hoops, a skirt, and a patterned shirt. 
  • Lighting- The music video starts with bright lighting and then transitions to dark lighting when the artist enters the party. 
  • Acting- Artist is acting disappointed and is dancing with a man at the party.
  • Makeup- Natural makeup
  • Props- Couch, carpet, and coffee table.
  • Set- A living room and a party.
Sound:
  • Diegetic sound is used since the audio originates from within the video.
Editing: 
  • Dissolve editing is used throughout the entire music video.
