Production Blog: Song Choice

 Hey guys, it's Alyssa! Up above is the album cover to the song I chose for my music video. The process for my music video has been... a process that's for sure. While it hasn't been terrible, I've already had some confusion with the song I chose for my music video. The song I first chose was 'Call Me Maybe' by Carly Rae Jepsen. I soon came to realize that although I do like the song, it doesn't really inspire me much. Sure the song was nostalgic and is super catchy, but nothing about it stood out to me. Since I had a problem with the first song I chose, of course I had to pick a new one. The one issue was that I couldn't really find inspiration from any song that I thought of. I went high and low searching for a song to satisfy me. I was looking for around forty-five minutes!!! I then chose to scroll through my music playlist. That playlist has 20 hours worth of music by the way. Finally though, I found the perfect song for me. That song had all the traits I needed. It was catchy, nostalgic, made by one of my favorite artists, had a great meaning, and most of all, it inspired me. That song is "Thinkin Bout You" by Frank Ocean. This song let me think of a perfect storyline to portray for my music video. As soon as I started playing the song, the idea for my music video almost hopped straight out of my head. After struggling to pick a song for so long, it came to me at last. I immigrated told my partners, Maria and Laudjah. They thought it was a great song. I'm very glad i searched for the perfect song for so long. The outcome was worth it. Till next time Lyssa nation!
